Hydra review by Kerrang
The best symphonic metal band are finally back to their best
Thank God for Within Temptation. Seriously. What with Nightwish mastermind Tuomas Holopainen currently Scrooge McFucking around with a bizarre concept album instead of sorting Nightwish out, it’s fallen to them to prove why symphonic metal still matters in 2014. And Hydra does that job perfectly. Whether it’s on Let Us Burn or Silver Moonlight, Sharon den Adel continues to hit notes that would leave other symphonic sirens wheezing in their corsets. But that’s normal. What’s more impressive is that they’re still taking risks. Yes, Xzibit’s stunted rhymes may spectacularly fail to pimp And We Run, but even this misstep shows a willingness to take tisks in a genre that often avoids them. That’s why Within Temptation still matter. That’s why they still make the competition look irresponsibly dull.

I don’t usually say nothing about reviews, but… Although, overall this review is good (they give 4K which for Kerrang is very good, they usually are assholes in the reviews), why make comparisons and depreciate other artists. But what could I expect, it’s Kerrang… I love their photoshoots, specially the ones from Paul Harries, but the reporters… *Roll eyes*
Kerrang did nothing but talk shit about The Unforgiving but now with Hydra they’re totally kissing their asses. Typical.
I don’t know how many of you have read this, but this is a new low, even for Kerrang. Comparing bands is so fucking lame, you dumb fucks. Stop running your mouths about shit you know nothing about and go get a real job.
Ok let me get this straight you little shit magazine, Scrooge McFucking? SortingNightwish out?!?!?!? Let me explain to you a thing or two cause you have me fucking pissed as all the layers of hell.
1. That Scrooge album is going to be fucking amazing. Have you heard the single? You clearly haven’t or you would not dare to diss it and tear it down. Tuomas has wanted and dreamed of doing this for at least 15 years. That man has put up with so much shit these past 10-12 years that he deserves this chance. Not to mention Tony Kakko and Johanna Kurkela are on it. Are you dissing them too? Or is it just Tuomas you have and issue with?
2. Nightwish is in fucking order. Everything is done and settled. There’s nothing to put in order. Most of the songs for the new album are written, the singer is settled and good to go, Troy is an official member and set. What else needs done to the band?!?!? Any drama with Anette is no longer their problem. They have said what they need to say and moved on, case closed. SHE’S the one stirring it all up again. They’ve wished her luck on her solo career and continued with theirs.
There. I’ve had my rant out and feel mush better saying it. Sorry to take up your dash, but stuff like this gets me fucking pissed.
